The Agony of IKEA Allen Wrenches

At some point in time everyone has had to assemble a piece of furniture from IKEA…or wherever. You always hope to have all the parts to assemble it! The one thing they make sure to give you is some generic Allen wrench. You should discard that.

One day I was assembling some bar stools my mother sent me. That short little Allen wrench wasn’t cutting it. However, I did have a Park Tool P-Handle Hex Wrench set laying around from working on my tri bike that morning. So I grabbed a 4mm P-Handle wrench and got to work.

It was so easy I felt dumb I didn’t think of this sooner. If you have a set a P-Handle wrenches don’t hesitate to use them on any furniture assembly project. The leverage it provided was awesome and because of the ball-head on the hex wrench it made getting tight spots painless.
